Crocheted Wool Covers

Ok you are a crafty lady, (or gent) you have done your homework, you really want to try wool. You have read how amazing it is, and figure why pay that kind of money for something you can make? And let me tell you making your own wool covers is a great way to save money. You can use mill ends or scraps just make sure it is 100% wool. And best of all using wool covers you only need maybe 6 total. And they only need washed when soiled or if they begin to smell. Meaning you can use it, hang it to air dry, use another, repeat and with 6 you can switch between 3 always having 3 clean. Now when you wash you must hand wash and they take longer to dry, but with all the benefits I think they are worth it!

So where to start?
I highly recommend joining Ravelry, it is free. Go to patterns and find the search bar top left. Type in wool soakers. You can then narrow your search by checking boxes on the left. Picture, free, crochet, etc. It also gives options for skill level :)

Here are a few free ones that look promising to me, but I must warn I have not tried any of these and can not vouch for the end product or the patterns.

A couple of fiber pointers. Make sure you use 100% wool always. I suggest worsted or heavier weight. You want a tight enough knit fabric you don;t have leaks. The idea is the fibers fluff together and forma  moisture barrier.
