Up-cycled or New Prefolds

Money can be really tight with a  new baby, especially in our current global economy. Many people know that cloth diapering can save money in the long run and most people understand the economical strain of buying disposables. But many folks are intimidated at the start up cost of cloth diapering. I am dedicated to providing alternatives for those on very tight budgets. I want to prove you can cloth diaper for pennies in a pinch.

This blog post will cover making your own prefolds which can be done from new fabrics or upcycled fabrics. I recommend using qoo% cotton, hemp or bamboo and making sure you are using a fabric that will be absorbent. Also make sure it is not fire retardant or treated in any manor.

Here is a great blog on how to sew your own prefolds.  http://webpages.charter.net/rhamley/diapers/diapertext1.htm
