This link has a bit of a negative tone but if you ignore that there are some great tips and tricks that I had not seen elsewhere.
This link covers problems and solutions in depth, specifically the dread ammonia monster.
Another good step by step break down.
If you do not have time to read the above links here ia a video.
Here is an article on how to clean your front load washer. If you are having build up and odor issues it may not be your diapers or your washing process but your washer that is the issue.
Here is one of our group members routines using her HE Front Loader:
She uses a Kenmore HE4t.
Dump all diapers in (prefolds, covers, pockets, inserts, wipes and wetbags), close the door.
Soak load on warm/cold with no spin.
That takes 30 minutes.
Then one squirt of Bac Out into pre-wash compartment and a half a scoop Biokleen free and clear in the detergent compartment.
Run one Heavy load with a Pre-wash with Heavy soil level and Stain Treat using Hot/ Cold with a high spin speed.
Follow by the Skin Care rinse 3 times.
Total time 2:45
